Sirmione 

The fortunate location of Sirmione has left substantial marks of every historical era, so much so that it still offers today, to archaeologists and historians, elements for new discoveries and new studies. The oldest traces of human settlements date back to the Bronze Age: they are the lake dwellings piles found in the 19th century, that extend from Salò to Garda, particularly in the Maraschina lake area (Peschiera municipality) in 1971, in the Galeazzi port area (Sirmione municipality) and of San Francesco (Desenzano del Garda municipality) in 1976. The peninsula is also famous for its thermal caves, which are used for thermal treatments and wellness.
