Sirmione Garda Lake

The strategic location of Sirmione has left substantial signs of each historical period, so much to give today, archaeologists and historians, elements for new discoveries and new studies. The oldest traces of human settlements dating back to the Bronze Age: the piles are lakes found in the nineteenth century, developing from Salò Garda, particularly in the area of the lake Maraschina (Municipality of Peschiera) in 1971 to port Galeazzi (Municipality of Sirmione) and San Francisco (City of Desenzano del Garda) in 1976.
